About us
We’re Milli and Nicola - two friends brought together by a shared love of food and, let’s be honest, good times.
We first met in the kitchen and started how we meant to go on: surrounded by 25 chocolate cakes. It definitely set the tone for our friendship. We understand that a good meal has the power to change your mood, that great ingredients should be celebrated and eaten often (don’t wait forever for a special occasion - crack out the good wine and spenny tinned fish on a random Wednesday night! Don’t delay!) and, above all, to always share generously.
We’re bringing that ethos to Sobremesa, a retreat designed to celebrate everything we love about cooking, eating, and gathering around a table.
Meet Milli
Milli Taylor is a chef and caterer with years of experience getting the best flavour out of every ingredient. She loves nothing more than getting behind a grill and making sure we all get the crispy bit of the fish, or last swipe of the juices from a pan. She knows hospitality like no other and always makes sure her guests are taken care of, whether dinner is for two or two hundred!
Over 40 years, her parents transformed Rancho del Inglés from a derelict farm into a stunning location for special events. Rancho is full of history, character, and charm and will make the perfect backdrop to the Sobremesa retreat.
Meet Nicola
Nicola Lamb is a pastry chef, writer and baking obsessive. Having spent years training in kitchens and bakeries in London and New York, she loves figuring out ways to make pastry accessible (and fun!) for all. Whether she’s making croissants or a meringue plinth, her baking is always rooted in technique. Nicola is passionate about teaching the details way that feels fun, relaxed, and totally achievable, as well as making sure you eat LOTS and LOTS of dessert.
